Private cultural journey
About this Journey
This three-day Hangzhou journey connects West Lake, Feilaifeng, Lingyin Temple, the Grand Canal, historic waterside streets, and Xixi National Wetland Park. The route moves from a gentle arrival afternoon to a full cultural day and a final wetland visit before departure.

The first afternoon introduces modern Hangzhou around Hubin and the West Lake waterfront. The next day moves into the city's deeper cultural landscape through Feilaifeng's Buddhist carvings, Lingyin Temple, a West Lake boat ride, and the history of the Grand Canal.

Xixi National Wetland Park provides a quieter final morning among waterways, reed beds, ponds, and bird habitat before the departure transfer. Across three days, the route connects Hangzhou's religious heritage, lake scenery, canal history, and contemporary city life.

West Lake, Lingyin Temple, the Grand Canal, historic waterside streets, and Xixi Wetland show Hangzhou through water, Buddhist heritage, and everyday neighbourhood life across three measured days.
Itinerary
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Hangzhou and walk beside West Lake
Meet the driver at Hangzhou airport or railway station and continue to the hotel for check-in. In the late afternoon, walk through the Hubin district and lakefront streets, where contemporary shops and public spaces meet the historic West Lake shoreline.
Continue beside the water as evening falls, passing willow-lined paths and viewpoints toward Leifeng Pagoda and the surrounding hills. Finish with a short West Lake boat journey before dinner in the Hubin area.

Day 2: Feilaifeng, Lingyin Temple, West Lake and the Grand Canal
Begin at Feilaifeng, where limestone cliffs hold Buddhist carvings created over several dynasties. Continue into Lingyin Temple to see its main halls, monumental Buddha images, active worship, and the relationship between the monastery and the wooded mountain setting.
After lunch, take a West Lake boat to Three Pools Mirroring the Moon and view the historic shoreline from the water. Continue to the Grand Canal Museum for the history of engineering, transport, and urban growth along the canal, then finish with an evening walk through the traditional houses and workshops of Xiaohezhijie.

Day 3: Xixi National Wetland Park and departure
Spend the morning in Xixi National Wetland Park, following boardwalks and waterways through ponds, reed beds, village remains, and bird habitat. A short boat segment reveals how water, farming, and settlement shaped this protected landscape on the edge of Hangzhou.
Return to the hotel for luggage and meet the private transfer to the airport or railway station. The wetland visit and pickup time are arranged around the confirmed onward service so the route concludes without a rushed departure.
