Private day trip
About this Journey
This full-day Shanghai journey follows a clear route through the city’s classical gardens, historic lanes, riverside architecture, Buddhist heritage, and modern skyline.

Begin at Yu Garden and the adjoining Old Town, where pavilions, rockeries, ponds, and traditional shopfronts introduce the texture of old Shanghai. Continue through the Former French Concession before lunch.

The afternoon moves from the Bund’s early twentieth-century architecture to Jade Buddha Temple, then across the river to Lujiazui for a close view of Shanghai’s contemporary towers.

The itinerary is presented as a fixed reference journey. Attraction access, traffic, and the final sightseeing order are confirmed before travel.

Day 1: Classical Shanghai to the Lujiazui Skyline
Meet in central Shanghai and begin at Yu Garden, a Ming-style garden of pavilions, ponds, rockeries, and covered corridors. Continue through the adjoining Old Town bazaar and cross the Nine-Zigzag Bridge, using the architecture and street layout to understand how this part of the city developed.
Walk through the Former French Concession, where tree-lined avenues, early twentieth-century residences, and public parks reveal another layer of Shanghai’s history. Continue to Nanjing Road and pause for the lunch included in the confirmed itinerary before walking onward to the riverfront.
Spend the afternoon on the Bund, comparing its historic banks and trading houses with the towers across the Huangpu River. Visit Jade Buddha Temple to see its main halls and carved jade figure, then finish among the elevated walkways and contemporary architecture of Lujiazui before returning to central Shanghai.
