Private cultural journey
About this Journey
This six-day Shaanxi journey pairs Xi’an’s imperial landmarks with village craft traditions, the Yellow River, and contemporary presentations of Tang culture.

After arrival, the route begins in Lintong with the Terracotta Warriors and a cultural-restoration experience, then continues into the Guanzhong countryside for noodles and folk painting.

Chenlu’s porcelain heritage and Hukou Waterfall lead back toward Xi’an, where Chang’an Twelve Hours, the Ming City Wall, and Yongxingfang bring the journey to a close.

The itinerary follows a fixed route and returns to Xi’an. Attraction access, workshop availability, and the order of visits are confirmed before travel.
Itinerary
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Xi’an
Arrive at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport or a central railway station and transfer to the confirmed hotel. After check-in, take time to rest following the journey into Shaanxi.
The remainder of the day stays deliberately light. A short walk near the hotel provides a first look at the city, while the main cultural programme begins the following morning with the drive east to Lintong.

Day 2: Terracotta Warriors & Qin Heritage Workshop
Drive from Xi’an to Lintong and enter the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum. Explore the main excavation pits, studying the formations of infantry, archers, horses, and chariots while learning how the figures were made and discovered.
Pause for the confirmed Qin-themed lunch, then continue to a specialist cultural workshop focused on the restoration and reconstruction of archaeological objects. The practical session explains how fragments are documented and assembled, using purpose-made teaching materials.
Return toward Xi’an after the workshop and settle in for the evening. The day provides the historical foundation for the village and craft experiences that follow.

Day 3: Guanzhong Villages, Noodle-Making & Folk Painting
Begin in Yuanjia Village with an introduction to Guanzhong food traditions. Prepare broad biangbiang noodles by stretching and striking the dough, then share the finished dish as part of the confirmed lunch.
Continue to Caijiapo Village for a folk-painting workshop. Bold colours and scenes of rural life provide the starting point for creating a small work while learning how the local style developed.
Finish at a contemporary village art space for coffee and a short walk through the surrounding lanes before returning to Xi’an in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Chenlu Porcelain & Ancient Ferry Town
Travel to Chenlu Ancient Town, a historic centre of Yaozhou porcelain production. Walk the ceramic-lined lanes, view old kiln sites, and join a pottery session that introduces clay preparation and wheel-forming techniques.
Continue toward the Yellow River and Ancient Ferry Town in the afternoon. Explore the settlement on foot and observe the landscape and building traditions of northern Shaanxi.
Settle into the confirmed local stay for the night, leaving enough rest before the following morning’s journey to Hukou Waterfall.

Day 5: Hukou Waterfall & Chang’an Twelve Hours
Begin at Hukou Waterfall, where the Yellow River narrows sharply and drops through a rocky channel. Walk the main viewing area and observe how the river’s colour, spray, and volume change with the season.
Return toward Xi’an and prepare for a Tang-inspired cultural experience before entering Chang’an Twelve Hours. Costumes, lantern-lit streets, music, dance, and staged scenes recreate an imaginative version of life in the Tang capital.
The evening programme ends in Xi’an after time to explore the performance areas and photograph the illuminated setting. Return to the hotel after the confirmed show period.
Day 6: Xi’an City Wall, Yongxingfang & Departure
Begin with a bicycle ride along the confirmed section of the Ming-era Xi’an City Wall above the historic centre. Arrow towers, gates, and views across the modern city show the scale of the old defensive system.
Continue to Yongxingfang for Shaanxi food traditions, shadow-puppet craft, and the local dishes included in the final lunch. The visit provides a last encounter with regional culture before the onward transfer.
After lunch, transfer to Xi’an Xianyang International Airport or the confirmed railway station. The pickup time is set around the supplied flight or train details.
