Private active journey
About this Journey
This six-day Yunnan route links Lijiang, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Shaxi, Dali, and Erhai through scenery, market life, and practical cultural experiences.

The journey begins beneath Jade Dragon Snow Mountain before following the old Tea Horse Road to Shaxi and its restored granary bookstore and caravan collection.

Dali brings lakeside cycling, Xizhou architecture, a morning market, the Three Pagodas, and a hands-on flower-cake workshop before the route returns to Lijiang.

The itinerary is designed as a fixed private journey. Cable-car operations, outdoor performances, and mountain access are confirmed according to weather and tickets.
Itinerary
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Lijiang
Arrive at Lijiang Sanyi International Airport or the railway station and transfer to the confirmed hotel. After check-in, rest and adjust to the plateau altitude.
Take a short orientation walk through Lijiang Old Town within the confirmed arrival schedule, observing its canals, stone lanes, timber buildings, and Naxi cultural details. Return to the hotel for an early night before the mountain excursion.

Day 2: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain & Blue Moon Valley
Travel to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and ride the Spruce Meadow cableway above the fir forest. Walk the accessible meadow route for views of the snow peaks and use the confirmed sightseeing stops to understand the mountain’s importance in Naxi culture.
Continue to Blue Moon Valley, where pale mineral water flows through a chain of pools beneath the mountain. Follow the waterside paths before attending the outdoor Impression Lijiang performance at the confirmed show time.
Finish in Baisha Old Town, one of the older Naxi settlements in the Lijiang basin. Walk its main lanes and courtyards before returning to Lijiang for the evening.

Day 3: Tea Horse Road Heritage in Shaxi
Leave Lijiang for Shaxi, a former trading stop on the Tea Horse Road. Walk Sideng Market Square, the old stage, temple, village gates, and surrounding lanes to understand how caravans once moved through the valley.
Visit the restored granary that now houses a bookstore and cultural space. The earthen walls and reused agricultural building connect Shaxi’s historic fabric with its contemporary community life.
Continue to the local caravan collection, where bells, saddles, contracts, maps, and other travel objects illustrate the practical world of tea and horse transport. Remain in Shaxi for the night after the visit.

Day 4: Shaxi to Dali: Xizhou Old Town & Erhai Lake
Begin with a quiet morning walk through Shaxi, watching the old stage, village gates, and market lanes come to life. Leave the Tea Horse Road town and travel south toward Dali.
Explore Xizhou Old Town in the afternoon, focusing on Bai courtyard architecture, carved façades, and the small workshops that produce local food and crafts. Continue to the shore of Erhai Lake after the village walk.
Ride a bicycle along the Erhai Ecological Corridor through lakeside fields and tree-lined sections of the path. Finish in Dali after the ride and settle in for the evening.

Day 5: Dali Morning Market, Three Pagodas & Flower-Cake Workshop
Begin at Dali’s North Gate Market, where vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, pickles, cheese, and other local ingredients reflect the everyday food culture of the Bai community.
Continue to Chongsheng Temple and the Three Pagodas, exploring the Buddhist complex and its relationship with the Cangshan–Erhai landscape. In the afternoon, enter a traditional Bai courtyard for a hands-on flower-cake workshop using rose filling and pastry dough.
After the workshop, return by road to Lijiang for the final night. This closes the geographic gap between the Dali activities and the following morning’s Lijiang departure.

Day 6: Lijiang Departure
Keep the final morning unhurried, with time for breakfast, packing, and a last short walk near the hotel before the onward transfer.
At the confirmed pickup time, transfer to Lijiang Sanyi International Airport or the railway station. The six-day route concludes on arrival at the selected departure point.
